I lead engineering teams for a living — currently a Director of Software Engineering, working with a distributed group of engineers and leaders spread across the globe. I care about building teams that actually function well: clear processes, direct communication, and space for people to do their best work. I'm a believer in AI as a real accelerant for how we build software.

When I'm not at a keyboard I'm spending time with my wife and our 90 lb lab Maggie May, hiking, fishing, or camping — or traveling the globe and finding ways to angle trips around live music. I also play piano, and I'm trying my absolute best to be a woodworker but really just spending money on tools.
